1. The Problem

India alone produces millions of tons of single-use plastic every year, most of which ends up in landfills, oceans, and city drains. Existing alternatives are either too expensive or too fragile for commercial use. Small and medium businesses lack access to sustainable packaging that is affordable, scalable, and strong enough for modern logistics. There is an urgent need for a new class of eco-materials that are practical, cost-effective, and environmentally viable.

2. The Solution – Kreskros EcoFiber Material

Kreskros has developed a proprietary composite material known as EcoFiber. It is created using rice husk fibers, sugarcane bagasse, and plant-based binders to produce packaging sheets that are lightweight, durable, waterproof, and fully biodegradable within 90–120 days.

EcoFiber can be thermoformed into trays, boxes, packaging inserts, envelopes, and even custom product molds. Compared to traditional paper-based alternatives, Kreskros sheets have higher tensile strength and moisture resistance, making them suitable for courier shipments, food packaging, and retail applications.

4. Team

Kreskros was founded in 2023 by a materials engineer, a supply chain specialist, and a sustainability researcher from IIT Delhi and TERI School of Advanced Studies. The team’s expertise spans polymer engineering, biodegradable materials, and sustainable manufacturing.

6. Impact
