Campaign Story
AquaLoop Technologies was founded to fight one of the planet’s most urgent crises—plastic pollution. India alone dumps over 3 million tons of plastic into landfills and oceans annually. AquaLoop developed a patented thermal compression process that converts collected ocean plastic into durable, lightweight construction panels and tiles for affordable housing and infrastructure.
Each panel produced by AquaLoop removes around 1.2 kg of ocean plastic, helping both coastal communities and marine life. The panels are stronger than cement sheets, waterproof, and resistant to corrosion—making them perfect for coastal buildings, public toilets, and shelters.
In early trials, AquaLoop partnered with two Kerala fishing communities, employing local fishermen to collect waste plastic. They successfully built five small eco-houses using recycled materials. The initiative drew praise from local authorities and NGOs for combining environmental impact with employment generation.
But now, AquaLoop is running out of money. Equipment maintenance, supply chain logistics, and licensing fees have drained the founders’ personal savings. Without immediate capital, the recycling units will shut down, and hundreds of kilograms of daily collected plastic will go to waste.
With India’s booming green infrastructure and sustainability mandates, AquaLoop stands at the edge of a massive opportunity. With the right support, it could scale to multiple coastal states, turning waste into wealth. Without it, this innovation risks sinking—just like the plastic it’s trying to save the world from.
